Well, I guess I missed my first post already. I actually went shopping yesterday, December 5, and got a really good deal at Kohl's, but since it took some time to get my blog set up and my introduction written it is now the 6th. I will go ahead and publish this anyway.
My trip to Kohl's for December 5, 2010
I acually went to Kohl's to look for accessories for my Christmas present, a Keurig Coffee Maker. Yes, I buy my own Christmas present and my husband wraps it and puts it under the tree for me to open on Christmas morning. He would buy my presents himself, but I enjoy finding deals and using coupons, so I usually get a better deal than he does. He would just go out and pay full retail price. I ordered it last week through http://www.kohls.com/ (I got 15% off and free shipping) so I had $20 Kohl's Cash from this purchase, a $5 coupon for signing up for Kohl's e-mail alerts while I was at the website, and a 15% off coupon I found while searching for my coffee maker that expired on the 5th. I didn't really find anything I was interested in purchasing for my new coffee maker so I looked around the store to see what else I could find.
I ended up purchasing a belt for my daughter, and 2 fleece throws (one each for my son and daughter) for Christmas presents.
Belt Regular Price $20 Sale Price $12
2 Fleece Throws Regular Price $39.99 each Sale Price $19.99 each
Regular Price for the 3 Items was $99.98 Sale Price was $51.98
Actual Price Paid for the 3 Items was $51.98 - $20 (Kohl's Cash) - $5 (e-mail signup coupon) = $26.98 - $4.05 (15% off coupon) = $22.93 + $1.38 (6% Sales Tax) = $24.31
I paid $24.31 for $99.98 in merchandise. That's a SAVINGS of $77.05 (before tax) or a 77% (before tax) SAVINGS!
I don't know about anyone else, but I think saving 77% on a purchase is really great.
