Dollar General - 12/8/10

Chris and I went to Dollar General looking for a small Christmas Tree, like a 3 1/2 or 4 foot tree.  We didn't find any small trees, the shortest one was 6 feet.  While we were there we looked around some.  Chris said earlier in the day that he wanted some vegetable soup.  My way of making vegetable soup is just opening up a bunch of cans of vegetables and some tomato sauce or tomato juice and letting it cook for about an hour.  I had checked to see which vegetables I needed and found that I had everything but green beans and potatoes.  I picked up a couple of cans of each and then found the pickles.  I had coupons for Mt. Olive Pickles that expire on the 12th so I decided to use them because they were cheaper there than I usually find them at Kroger, which is where I usually do most of my grocery shopping.  Chris loves banana peppers too so he put a jar of them in the shopping cart.  The only other thing I really found that I was interested in was the Gain Dish Liquid.  Any time I can find dish soap for $1 and I have a coupon for it I buy it.  I have learned never to pay more than $0.50 for Dish Soap.  Here's my list from Dollar General.

Nothing was on sale, but I did have some coupons.  My savings on this trip was only 21%.  Not really too bad, but I've done a lot better before.
