I guess it's time to get back into the shopping mood again. My vacation is over and Kristen's Spring Break is over. I'm really not getting into work right now. My first 2 days back (Monday and Tuesday) and I am working 16 hour shifts, 1:30pm - 5:30am. That means not enough sleep and no time at home. I stopped at Kroger on my way home this morning. Chris asked me if I could get him some Coke, Tea, and Ice. Our ice maker quit working and we never did get it fixed and no one can remember to fill up the ice trays so we just buy a big bag of ice about once a month. Our ice cube tray ice supplements the bag of ice when we can remember to fill them. He also told me that we needed toilet paper. Guess what? He was wrong. I told him to look in the downstairs shower. We've lived in our house for 20 years and have only used that shower about 3 times because there is no water pressure for some reason so I store things in it. At least there is only 3 packs of toilet paper and one pack of paper towels. I had to laugh though because of the extreme coupon show and the ladies that had their extra showers stuffed full of toilet paper and paper towels. I do love couponing, but I DO NOT go to the extremes that these ladies do.
While I was going to the section where the Coke and Tea are I also decided to look to see if anything was marked down on Manager's Special. These are items that are about to expire but are still good. I usually buy my meat this way. I take it home and either freeze it or use it before the expiration date which is usually anywhere from the next day to about 5 days later. I found several items marked down and got them. I didn't have any coupons for this trip but the savings was really great.
